Visual Outcomes was created to fulfil a vision. In 2004, VO founder Dr Sue-Ellen McKelvey was searching for software to serve her multi-clinic, multi-specialty practice in Sydney, Australia.
The available packages were very limited. And nothing on the market met Sue-Ellen’s vision of a system built around the patient. Her goal was to excel in the processes and practical realities of clinic management, with a solution that integrated multi-specialty clinical records, practice management and client interaction.
So she put together a team of experts to conceive and create the first version of Visual Outcomes.
Over three years, Visual Outcomes grew into the hub of Sue-Ellen’s practice. New capabilities and refinements were driven by the daily experience of Sue-Ellen and her colleagues.
By 2007, the system was well-proven and Sue-Ellen and her team were being approached by other clinics facing the same challenges. So they set about turning Visual Outcomes into a commercial product.
The product quickly gained customers around Australia in a broad range of healthcare practices. It had a sudden impact across many disciplines because it was patient-centered, not discipline-specific.
In 2010, Visual Outcomes opened its office in the USA.
Today it’s maintaining over two million patient records for more than 150 practices in Australia and the USA, from sole practices to multi-specialty university teaching clinics.
VO has been steadily expanded to encompass a range of medical and complementary specialties, with new capabilities being added regularly.
